Kaelis Recognized at OBH Magazine Awards for Innovation in Amenities and Wellbeing

Kaelis is pleased to share that two of its recent collaborations have been recognized at the OBH Awards, which celebrate excellence and innovation in onboard hospitality across the aviation industry.

Air Astana’s amenity kit, created in partnership with Kaelis, was awarded Best for Onboard Amenities: Economy/Low Cost Carrier. This kit focuses on both comfort and environmental responsibility. Packaged in a reusable shoebag made from eco-friendly non-woven fabric, it includes travel essentials such as socks, eye mask, earplugs, dental kit, pen and hand cream. The design prioritizes sustainability through the use of kraft paper, a bamboo toothbrush, cardboard pen and zero single-use plastics — reflecting a shared commitment to reducing the environmental footprint of inflight service.
The Best for Onboard Wellbeing – Highly Commended recognition was awarded to the Hajj Amenity Kit developed for Qatar Airways. Created to support passengers undertaking the sacred pilgrimage, the kit offers both physical comfort and spiritual care. It includes a prayer mat, tally counter, prayer beads, anti-slip socks, wet wipes and a drawstring pouch for personal items, all packed within a practical, reusable black backpack. Every element was thoughtfully selected to enhance the wellbeing of travelers on one of the most meaningful journeys of their lives.

Both recognitions highlight the importance of intentional design — whether in sustainable materials or in supporting cultural practices — and reflect the collaborative spirit between Kaelis and its airline partners. These projects aim not just to meet the expectations of modern travelers, but to do so with care, purpose and respect.
